The album opens with a Terrasson original – Kiff (a slang word for “cool”). Some ridiculously high-pitched beatboxing leads into a Garneresque section which shows Jacky’s adherence to earlier eras in jazz as well as the sounds of today.
“Kiff,” “Dance,” “November,” and “Letting Go” are imaginative and often playful originals. But it’s the covers here that are particularly fascinating, ranging from a very quiet examination of “Blue in Green” to two barely recognizable takes of “Take Five” to a Latin jazz version of “Maladie d’amour.”
