Fabriclive 61 ebbs and flows, instantly creating and then maintaining an intensity that manifests itself through an excellent selection of tracks and some increasingly interesting mixing techniques. With many dubstep DJ’s shifting perspective in both tempo and scope, Pinch’s mix provides a snapshot into the ever-changing dynamics of the genre.
18 de ene. de 2012 · FabricLive.61 showcases a producer similarly disinterested in genre orthodoxy. But he's doing it in a different way. The mix might have its roots in dubstep's swampier side but is now intertwined with gnarled techno and thorny breaks.
This central nub almost functions as a showcase, Pinch demonstrating some of contemporary dubstep’s many flavours: the industrial sounds of Emika, Roska’s clattering drums, Addison Groove’s use of repeating vocals as a rhythmic weapon and the shimmering techy keys of Goth Trad.
FabricLive.61 is a 2012 DJ mix album by Pinch. The album was released as part of the FabricLive Mix Series. The mix signalled a shift away from Pinch's earlier dubstep sound, moving towards house and techno.
