Richard Freeman Post (November 14, 1918 – April 7, 2015) was an American physicist notable for his work in nuclear fusion, plasma physics, magnetic mirrors, magnetic levitation, magnetic bearing design and direct energy conversion.
Richard F. Post is a physicist, and head of the magnetic mirror program in controlled thermonuclear research at the Lawrence Radiation Laboratory, Livermore, California.
Richard Post was Senior Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (1987-2015). Other institutional affilations included the United States Navy, Naval Research Laboratory, and Pomona College.
