We Want Miles is a double album recorded by jazz trumpeter Miles Davis in 1981, produced by Teo Macero and released by Columbia Records in 1982. The album combines recordings from the first live appearances by Davis in more than five years, at Boston's Kix Club, on June 27, 1981.
Al Foster’s remarkable drumming on Miles Davis’ album “We Want Miles” earned him this esteemed recognition.
Aloysius Tyrone Foster (born January 18, 1943) is an American jazz drummer. Foster's professional career began in the mid-60s, when he played and recorded with hard bop and swing musicians including Blue Mitchell and Illinois Jacquet.

Al Foster (n. 18 de enero de 1943) es un baterista estadounidense de jazz. Biografía. Foster nació en Richmond, Virginia, y creció en Nueva York. Comenzó a tocar la batería a la edad de 13 años e hizo su debut discográfico con Blue Mitchell a los 21. Se unió a Miles Davis cuando Jack DeJohnette lo dejó en 1972, 1 y tocó con Davis hasta 1985.
