Helen Humes (June 23, 1913 – September 9, 1981) was an American singer. [1] Humes was a teenage blues singer, a vocalist with Count Basie 's band, a saucy R&B diva, and a mature interpreter of the classic popular song.

In 1979 Humes teamed up with the Muse All Stars to record a superb album. On this release, Humes joined up with altoist/singer Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson on "I'm Gonna Move to the Outskirts of Town" and is in top form throughout.
