Alexander Stewart, Duke of Ross (30 April 1514 – 18 December 1515) was the fourth and last son of King James IV of Scotland and his queen Margaret Tudor. He was born after his father was killed at the Battle of Flodden , during the reign of his infant brother King James V of Scotland .

Alexander Stewart is the younger son of King James IV and Queen Margaret Tudor.
James is born as the second legitimate child of the king of Scotland, having many elder illegitimate half-siblings, and an elder brother, James. After his father dies during the Battle of Flodden, his brother James becomes king, with his mother serving as queen regent.
After his mother remarries to the Earl of Angus, the Scottish lords attempt to seize power from Margaret, and she, Angus, and her sons are besieged at Stirling. When Howard arrives to discuss Margaret's regency, she leaves seclusion, but she is betrayed when her second husband hands her sons over to the Scottish lords.

Alexander Stewart, Duke of Ross (30 April 1514 – 18 December 1515) was the fourth and last son of King James IV of Scotland and his queen Margaret Tudor. He was born after his father was killed at the Battle of Flodden, during the reign of his infant brother King James V of Scotland.
By September 1502 he was archdeacon, when his uncle James, Duke of Ross died in 1504 his father the King nominated him as the new Archbishop of St Andrews. Alexander was still only a boy at age 11 which would mean his father could still receive the revenues of St Andrews since Alexander was under age until he turned 27.
