Deep Song is Kurt Rosenwinkel's sixth album as a band leader. The album features a new band, composed of pianist Brad Mehldau, tenor saxophonist Joshua Redman, bassist Larry Grenadier, and drummers Ali Jackson and Jeff Ballard.
Brad Mehldau is an American jazz pianist. He first recorded in 1991, for saxophonist Christopher Hollyday's The Natural Moment. He has recorded more than forty albums as leader or co-leader, many more as a sideman, and for several soundtracks.

Bradford Alexander Mehldau ( / ˈmɛlˌdaʊ /; born August 23, 1970) is an American jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. Mehldau studied music at The New School, touring and recording while still a student. He was a member of saxophonist Joshua Redman 's quartet in the mid-1990s, and has led his own trio since the early 1990s.
