Safety
We are all concerned about safety. Fortunately, Newfoundland boasts one of the lowest crime rates in North America. But to make you feel extra safe and secure we have our own patrol officers who keep an eye on things morning, noon and night, plus the SafeDrive program run by our students’ union, MUNSU. On top of that, we have a series of tunnels and skywalks (the MUNels) that connect many of our buildings keeping you safe (and dry) through all kinds of weather.
Founded in September 1925 as a living memorial to Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who died in the First World War, Memorial is the largest university in Atlantic Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador's only university.
