Mary Angela Dickens (31 October 1862 – 7 February 1948) was an English novelist and journalist of the late Victorian and Edwardian eras, and the oldest grandchild of the novelist Charles Dickens. She died on the 136th anniversary of her grandfather's birth.
Description. Mary Dickens (known universally as Mamie) was Charles Dickens’s eldest daughter, who remained unmarried and lived with her father throughout his life, even after his separation from his wife in 1858. She appeared in several of his amateur dramatic performances, including 'The Frozen Deep'.
