Lead vocalist and keyboardist Daniel Layus and guitarist Josiah Rosen were studying contemporary Christian music at Greenville University when Augustana formed in Autumn 2002 in Illinois. Layus brought friends Kyle Baker, Simeon Lohrmann and David Lamoureaux together to write and create music.
Josiah Rosen is a world class visionary who has a unique understanding of artist development as a songwriter, producer and A&R executive. In college he co-founded Augustana and was instrumental in signing a multi-million dollar recording contract with Epic Records and publishing deal with EMI.
