The Gold Experience (en español: La Experiencia de Oro) es el decimoséptimo disco que Prince editó el 26 de septiembre de 1995 junto a su agrupación New Power Generation (NPG). Como la mayoría de los discos de Prince, The Gold Experience fue grabado en sus propios estudios, Paisley Park Studios .
The New Power Generation, also known as the NPG, was the backing band of musician Prince from 1990 to 2013. They were replaced by 3rdeyegirl as his backing band in 2013. In 2015, the New Power Generation reunited as Prince's backing band for his final studio album before his death, Hit n Run Phase Two .

The Gold Experience sold 500,000 copies in the United States and peaked at number six on the Billboard 200, failing to meet the record label's commercial expectations. 1. Every use of the pronoun "I" throughout the song titles and liner notes is represented by a stylized "👁" symbol. This symbol is commonly transliterated as "Eye" amongst Prince fans, as "👁 No" and "I Wish U Heaven" both appeared on Lovesexy.
