The Bob Hope Show hosted by Bob Hope, debuted on April 9, 1950. During the 1952-1953 season, NBC rotated with other variety shows in a Sunday night block known as "The Colgate Comedy Hour" (Sept. 1950 to Dec. 1955).

Bob Hope will always be one of America's greatest patriots and entertainers, as he wonderfully shows in his 1967 (Broadcast January-18-1968) Christmas Show for deployed American troops during his USO tour of Southeast Asian military bases including Vietnam.
A total of 272 NBC variety specials hosted by Hope were produced from 1950 to 1996. In addition to his television specials, Hope appeared on the series Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theatre from 1963 to 1967.
Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra appear as baseball players in a comedy sketch. Bob and Janis Paige appear as kitchen workers who pretend they are wealthy to impress the other. Frank and Janis sing several tunes and Bob tries to convince a teenaged Natalie Wood that she needs to date more mature men (such as he).
