Charles Samuel Bush (13 de abril de 1952) es un mandolinista estadounidense considerado uno de los creadores del subgénero musical bluegrass progresivo.
Sam Bush extended the musical capabilities of the mandolin and the fiddle to incorporate a seamless blend of bluegrass, rock, jazz, and reggae. As the founder and leader of the New Grass Revival, Bush pioneered and guided the evolution of modern hill country music.
Biography. Mandolin guru David Grisman called Sam Bush “the world’s greatest all-purpose mandolinist.” In a professional career that got underway in 1970, Bush was equally adept at both mandolin and fiddle, was a distinctive vocalist and songwriter, and pioneered a subgenre of bluegrass music that came to be known as “newgrass.”

5 de oct. de 2018 · The former New Grass Revival frontman, now 66, is still on the road, and stopped by Western Connecticut State University’s Ives Concert Center for a show that not only showcased Bush’s trademark eclectic style, but was rich with bluegrass classics as well.
