  2. Founded by King Henry VIII in 1541, The King's (The Cathedral) School is a state-funded Church of England Cathedral Chorister School located in Peterborough, England. It is the Chorister School for Peterborough Cathedral. Former pupils are known as Old Petriburgians.

  3. King’s is one of the seven famous Cathedral Schools established by Henry VIII in 1541. Today we are a thriving, forward-thinking, independent day school with 740 pupils. We welcome boys and girls, aged 3 to 18, offering academic excellence and a celebrated range of co-curricular activities, underpinned by outstanding pastoral care.

  5. It is a Church of England comprehensive school, with a large academic Sixth Form. It was founded by Henry VIII in 1541 as the Cathedral School to educate the Cathedral choristers and this close link with the Cathedral is still valued and maintained today.

  6. King's and the Cathedral The School has enjoyed a long history of close association with Gloucester Cathedral and the Abbey that preceded it. When William the Conqueror sent the Norman Abbot Serlo to Gloucester in 1072, he found that there were already eight boys being educated there.
