Lacus Mortis / ˈ l eɪ k ə s ˈ m ɔːr t ɪ s / (Latin mortis, "Lake of Death") is a hexagonal-shaped plain of basaltic lava flows in the northeastern part of the Moon's near face. It was formed as a floor-fractured crater during the pre-Imbrian epoch, then flooded during the late Imbrian period.

The band's drummer, Fenriz, used the nickname "Hank Amarillo". The album was remastered and reissued by Peaceville in 2003, as well as being repackaged in a cardboard digipak. The first chapter of a four-part video interview with Fenriz and Nocturno Culto, spanning the first four albums, was also included as bonus material.
