Jepson Art Institute, founded in 1945 by artist Herbert Jepson, was an art school located at 2861 West 7th Street in the Westlake district of central Los Angeles, California. It flourished from 1947 to 1953 — becoming an important center for experimental figure drawing, art theory and printmaking.

Herbert Jepson (June 6, 1908 – July 2, 1993) was an American artist and designer. He founded the Jepson Art Institute in Los Angeles in 1945; among his students were Larry Bell and Joe Goode . He was the father of poet Elena Karina Byrne .
