John deKoven Alsop (July 4, 1915 – April 6, 2000) was an American politician, insurance executive, and soldier. A Republican, Alsop served in the Connecticut House of Representatives and unsuccessfully ran for for governor of Connecticut in 1958 and 1962. [1]

Biography John Alsop of Avon, Connecticut, graduated from Yale in 1937. He was an insurance executive and a Republican. He served in the stae legislature from 1947-1950 and ran unsuccessfully for Governor twice: 1958 when he was defeated in the rpimary and in 1962 when he lost to the incumbent.
