    In an interview, Charlie Higson stated that the book will focus on Small Sam and The Kid, and their connection to Matt's religious scheme. In March, Higson stated that Puffin Books offered him "a seventh book". This made Book Five a direct sequel to The Enemyis now book five, and Book Seven becoming the book containing the final battle.
