  3. Preview. Although it was originally filed as a Gene Krupa album, the 1956 LP Drummer Man is centered on the chemistry between trumpeter Roy Eldridge and singer Anita O’Day. The session is something of a valedictory run for the three friends and collaborators, who had played together in Krupa’s band since 1941.

  6. 24 de may. de 2022 · Fantastic swing by drum master Gene Krupa, together with an marvelous Roy Eldridge on trumpet and vocals by the entertaining Anita O'Day. The reunited Big Band provides some of his most beloved classics, like 'Let Me Off Uptown', 'Boogie Blues' or 'After You've Gone', and some extraordinary drum breaks by Gene on 'Drummin' Man' and 'Drum Boogie'.

  7. 8 de dic. de 2006 · Drummer Man opens with a bang, Let Me Off Uptown. As others have reviewed, there's a great dialoge with O'Day and Eldridge that sets the context of this song; it's edgy and primal, for 1956! Captures the feeling of the swing era.
