William Lee Currie (born 1 April 1950 [1]) is a British multi-instrumentalist and songwriter from Huddersfield, England. He is best known as the keyboard and strings player with new wave band Ultravox, who achieved their greatest commercial success in the 1980s.
Push, Billy Currie’s fifth album from 2002, sees the Ultravox founder experimenting with electronics, viola and ‘granular synthesis’ in a revitalised way. ‘Another tour de force of synthesizers and stringed instruments that captures a unique romantic niche.’
