Brantley Smith. Website. hootie .com. Hootie & the Blowfish is an American rock band formed in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1986. The band's lineup for most of its existence has been the quartet of Darius Rucker, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, and Jim Sonefeld.
3 de dic. de 2018 · Bryan and Rucker began playing cover tunes as The Wolf Brothers and eventually hooked up with Dean Felber, a former high school bandmate of Bryan’s, and Brantley Smith as Hootie & The Blowfish. (The unlikely moniker was borrowed from the nicknames of two college friends.)
Brantley Smith was the band’s original drummer. He left the band to pursue a career in music ministry, but he has made sporadic guest appearances with the band in the past (he played cello on their MTV Unplugged performance in 1996, and played drums at Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas, on June 27, 2008).
15 de nov. de 2021 · A judge in South Carolina ordered a 30-year-old man to spend the rest of his life behind bars for viciously beating his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son to death after he “brutally sexually molested” the victim for weeks. Authorities said that the toddler’s body was covered in bite marks and bruises.
3 de jul. de 2023 · Brantley Smith was the original drummer until he was replaced in the late 1980s by Jim Sonefeld. Rucker, Bryan, Felber and Sonefeld solidified the famous lineup they still operate as today.
