  3. 3 de ene. de 2014 · Based On Happy Times was released in 1989 on Geffin. What make this disc special, is his collaboration with one of my favorite song writers, Jules Shear. Jules co-wrote two of the songs and plays (sings) on the album as well. I've never heard a bad song come out of Keene.

Yes, this is top-down music for speeding on highways, but there’s enough introspection (“though the promises were tall/the pieces were are so small”) to keep you interested once you’ve shot your voice from singing along. Guests on this 1989 album include Jules Shear (backup vocals) and R.E.M.’s Peter Buck (guitar, mandolin).
