Govindaraja IV (r. c. 1192 CE) was an Indian king belonging to the Chahamana dynasty, which ruled the Sapadalaksha region in present-day north-western India. The Ghurid invaders defeated and killed his father Prithviraja III, while he was still a minor, and appointed him as a vassal ruler of the Chahamana kingdom.
Lord Govindaraja is the God of the place Tirupathi. Venkateswara came to Tirupathi lately. If there are two Vishnu temples in one place, the one who was established first will be called as elder brother of the one who came lately. That's how govindaraja become elder brother of venkateswara.

19 de ago. de 2020 · As for the Chauhans, Prithviraja’s son, Govindaraja IV, was spared by the Ghurids, and swore an oath of loyalty to them. He was, however, dethroned by his uncle, Hariraja, and banished. Whilst Hariraja was later defeated by the Ghurids in 1194, Govindaraja established a new dynasty, the Chauhans of Ranthambore.

After the Ghurid invaders defeated his brother Prithviraja III in 1192 CE, he dethroned his nephew Govindaraja IV, who had been appointed as a vassal ruler by the Ghurids. Reign. Hariraja was a son of the Chahamana king Someshvara and queen Karpuradevi.
Muhammad of Ghor appointed Prithviraja's son Govindaraja IV as a vassal. Prithviraja's brother Hariraja dethroned him, and regained control of a part of his ancestral kingdom. Hariraja was defeated by the Ghurids in 1194 CE. Govindaraja was granted the fief of Ranthambore by the Ghurids. There, he established a new branch of the dynasty.
24 de dic. de 2021 · Leaderless and confused, Hariraja’s followers and loyalists migrated to Ranasthambhapura, which had now emerged as the newest Hindu power centre under the sturdy helm of Govindaraja IV, son of Prithviraja Chahamana. He gave them refuge and appointed them to high offices.
