The Mariinskaya Gymnasium (Russian: Мариинская гимназия) in Taganrog on Chekhov Str. 104 - currently school No. 15 of the North Caucasus Railway – originated from two oldest educational establishments in the South of Russia: the Mariinskaya Gymnasium for Girls and the Railway Vocational School.
Mariinskaya Women's Gymnasium. Coordinates: 59°43′10″N 30°24′13″E. Mariinskaya Women's Gymnasium is an historic building in Pushkin, Saint Petersburg. The building was erected as a government office between 1844 and 1845. It was converted to a school for women in 1865.
It took the school 20 years to expand its curriculum from a three-year program to seven grades. In 1903, the school changed its status from a pro-gymnasium with three grades to a gymnasium offering seven grades, and added an eighth grade in 1904 for training teachers, enabling its graduates to obtain a degree in teaching.
Mariinskaya Gymnasium was the first secondary educational institution in the Tver province for girls of all classes and religions. In the post-reform period, the duration of education in the gymnasium increased to 7 years, an 8th pedagogical class was additionally established.
