Yogi Lonich is the son of a Peruvian mother and Croatian father (originally from the island of Ugljan), who left Croatia as a teenager. His older sister Plavka is also a musician. As a solo artist
Lonich released his solo debut Metta in 2006. The album won him the Los Angeles Music Award’s “Best Independent Pop Artist”. He released his sophomore album Hesitant Poet in 2010.
As a band member
Lonich's first band, Sound Assembly, signed for Moonshine Music in 1995, under which they released their debut album In The Pocketin 1996. In 1999, he became a member of American rock band Buckcherry after the band released their eponymous debut album earlier that year. After he joined the band, Buckcherry toured incessantly to promote their debut album Buckcherry. They opened for Lenny Kravitz on his 1999 Freedom Tour. Lonich played guitar on British singer-songwriter Yusuf's thirteenth studio album Roadsinger, which made its debut on the Billboard 200 at position No. 41 and on the UK charts at No. 10. He is credited on American singer-songrwiter LP's third studio album Forever For Now(2014), which was also her major label full-length debut.
