Victoria College was a College of Advanced Education (CAE) in Melbourne, Australia. It was created as a result of the merger on 23 December 1981 of the State College of Victoria colleges at Burwood, Rusden and Toorak with the Prahran College of Advanced Education.

The State College of Victoria at Rusden was formed in 1973 by the merger of Larnook Teachers' College and Monash Teachers' College.
31 de dic. de 1991 · Merging with Victoria College transformed Deakin in size, complexity, culture and geography. It also gave Deakin a greater national profile and presence in Melbourne. Victoria College was a large institution with campuses at Rusden, Prahran, Toorak and Burwood.
Deakin University is a public university in Victoria, Australia. Founded in 1974, the university was named after Alfred Deakin, the second Prime Minister of Australia . Its main campuses are in Melbourne's Burwood suburb, Geelong Waurn Ponds, Geelong Waterfront, and Warrnambool, as well as the online Cloud Campus.
Having grown from the Monash Teachers' College, Rusden traces its beginnings to the culturally progressive days of the late Whitlam era. Higher education was free and available to people from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
