Riverside University High School was Milwaukee’s first high school and its legacy of success at its current location began in 1915. A vibrant and diverse multicultural school, Riverside focuses on preparing all students for success in college, career, and beyond.
Riverside University High School is a public high school located on the East Side of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a college preparatory curriculum. It is a part of the Milwaukee Public Schools system.
Riverside University High School ‘s rigorous university-preparatory program focuses on student success in post secondary education. RUHS serves approximately 1590 students from a wide variety of communities in the Milwaukee area.
Riverside is known throughout the region as the Advanced Placement school. RUHS offers more Honors and AP courses than any other area high school. We offer students a safe, orderly environment with a focus on preparing students to successfully transition to college.
Riverside has a state-of-the-art lab for our Project Lead the Way biomedical programs, students learn from hands-on experiences while earning college credits. With close proximity to UW-Milwaukee, students may take college courses on the UWM campus.
