After a massive world tour that ran from 1985 to 1986, the following members left the group: guitarist Wesley B. Wright; founding bassist Juan Marcos Avila; and keyboardist Roger Fisher. Emilio assumed the role of producer and no longer performed live.

Eyes of Innocence was the first release by the Miami Sound Machine outside of the Americas. It established breakthrough single success for the band with the lead single, "Dr. Beat", a top 20 hit in Australia, the United Kingdom [2] and other places in Europe.

The Miami Sound Machine should absolutely be nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They were a Latin band that transitioned into pop music, something that's not so easy to do. The band deserves to be recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to music.
