Randal William MacDonnell, 1st Marquess of Antrim (4 November 1749 - 29 July 1791) KB was an Irish peer. Biography. He was born on 4 November 1749, the only son and heir of Alexander MacDonnell, 5th Earl of Antrim by his second wife Anne, daughter of Charles Patrick Plunkett.

Randall MacDonnell, 1st Marquess of Antrim (1609–1683) was a Roman Catholic landed magnate in Scotland and Ireland, son of the 1st Earl of Antrim. He was also chief of Clan MacDonnell of Antrim. He is best known for his involvement, mostly on the Royalist side, in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms.
MacDonnell, Randall (1609–83), 2nd earl and 1st marquis of Antrim , was the eldest legitimate son of Sir Randal MacDonnell (qv), 1st earl of Antrim, and his wife Alice, daughter of Hugh O'Neill, 3rd earl of Tyrone.
They were the parents of at least 3 daughters. In 1768, his occupation is listed as viscount dunluce - he sat in the irish house of commons for county antrim . He died on 29 July 1791, in Dublin, Ireland, at the age of 41, and was buried in Ballycastle, County Antrim, Ireland. More.
