James Wesley " Red " Holloway (May 31, 1927 – February 25, 2012) [1] was an American jazz saxophonist. Biography. Born in Helena, Arkansas, [2] Holloway started playing banjo and harmonica, switching to tenor saxophone when he was 12 years old.
Johnny Hodges and Orchestra originally recorded Day Dream written by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn and Johnny Hodges and Orchestra released it on the single Day Dream in 1941. It was also covered by Ed Reed, Don Menza and The Ron Corsaro Trio, Andy Bey, Kevin McNeal and other artists.
