Her male peers, many of whom were considered less accomplished than she during their lifetimes, are still talked about today, including her friends Marcus Stone and Valentine Prinsep.

Catherine Elizabeth Macready Perugini was an English painter of the Victorian era and the daughter of Catherine Dickens and Charles Dickens. Born Catherine Dickens and nicknamed Kate or Katey, she was Charles Dickens' youngest surviving daughter, and according to her siblings her father's favourite child.
27 de ago. de 2018 · In 2006, I published a biography about a little-remembered artist, Kate Perugini. Had she worked under her maiden name, it is likely she would still be remembered, and talked about, today — because Katey (as she was known in her family) was the daughter of Charles and Catherine Dickens.
Royal Scottish Academy of Art & Architecture. At the time of posing for The Black Brunswicker, Katey was 20 years old and an art student at Bedford College in London. She had recently become engaged to one of Millais’ closest friends, Charles Allston Collins ('Charlie'). He was the younger brother of novelist Wilkie Collins.
