Vakhushti (Georgian: ვახუშტი; c. 1696 – 1757) was a Georgian royal prince (batonishvili), geographer, historian and cartographer. His principal historical and geographic works, Description of the Kingdom of Georgia and the Geographical Atlas , were inscribed on UNESCO 's Memory of the World Register in 2013.
Levan (Georgian: ლევანი), also known by his Muslim name Shah-Qoli Khan (Persian: شاه قلی سلطان, romanized: Shāh Qolī Khān) (born c. 1653 – 30 May 1709) was a Georgian royal prince (batonishvili) and the fourth son of the king of Kartli Shahnawaz (Vakhtang V).
Batonishvili (Georgian: ბატონიშვილი, lit. 'a child of a lord or sovereign') is a title for royal princes and princesses who descend from the Kings of Georgia from the Bagrationi dynasty. Batonishvili is suffixed after or before the given names e.g. David Batonishvili or Batonishvili Ioane, etc.
22 de jun. de 2015 · Sioni Cathedral of the Dormition in Tbilisi, Georgia circa 1890. The seventeenth century brought attacks on Tbilisi by the Persians that devastated the Sioni church. The damage to the church from these attacks was restored by Archbishop Elise Saginashvili, Metropolitan of Tbilisi, in 1657.
