25 de oct. de 2015 · Shamshad Husain, son of late veteran artist MF Husain, breathed his last on Saturday evening at his Delhi home. Diagnosed with liver cancer in September, his condition rapidly deteriorated. He was admitted at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Vasant Kunj.
On October 24, Indian painter Shamshad Husain passed away from liver cancer in Delhi. He was 69 years old. In recent decades the artist had emerged as an important figure in Indian art, with his career and influence framed by the immense stature of his father, MF Husain (1915–2011), one of India’s most famous and controversial modern artists.
One of the very few who have managed to make a name in a field dominated by a father, Shamshad has defied the odds to struggle and emerge as one of the pioneers of contemporary art in India. Born in 1946, Shamshad spent most of his childhood in Mumbai with his father.
