Gene Clark never will, because he died in 1991, just living long enough to see the alt.country movement he helped inspire. That's Roger to the left of Gene (in the square) and Chris just below, back in the original Byrds line-up.

  4. 14 de ene. de 2008 · While playing for Gene Clark at the Whisky A Go Go, he was asked to replace Chris Hillman in The Byrds in the summer of 1968. A new incarnation of the legendary band was evolving which included Roger McGuinn, Clarence White, and Gene Parsons with whom he recorded Dr. Byrds and Mr. Hyde and The Ballad of Easy Rider .

  5. Hillman's prominence continued with the Byrds' next album, The Notorious Byrd Brothers, on which he shared songwriting credit on seven of the album's eleven songs. Pioneering country rock [ edit ] Internal strife dogged the Byrds, and by the beginning of 1968 the band was down to two original members (Hillman and McGuinn), with Hillman's cousin Kevin Kelley on drums.
