The lyrics are a poem written by Rósa Guðmundsdóttir (1795–1855); the melody is a traditional lullaby, arranged by Jón Ásgeirsson (1928–) in 1960.

  6. Songs From the Cold Seas. Karma_Idiot Jan 08 2011. The second track (featuring Björk) is the essence of beauty. Everything else also has bits and pieces of it. However, my major gripe was the chanting. I mean it's great that the album includes some traditional culture and all, but repeating a chant four times in a row is way too much. Published.
