Love is one of the relatively few Soviet films about late teenagers/ young adults, which makes it worth seeing by itself, but its main strengh is in how relentlessly it conflates the personal with the political, jumping from young love to social questions of discrimination, hate and xenophobia (broadly speaking, as to avoid spoilers).
