Three Times (Chinese: 最好的時光) is a 2005 Taiwanese film directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien. It consists of three separate stories of romance, set in different eras, using the same lead actors, Shu Qi and Chang Chen .
Synopsis. In three separate segments, set respectively in 1966, 1911, and 2005, three love stories unfold between three sets of characters, under three different periods of Taiwanese history and governance.
Love throughout the times, shaped by material conditions and contemporary class struggles. Social revolutions change social norms, change the conditions and values and desires en masse; revolutions re-invent, and so love has to be re-invented.
