Andrew Stewart, 2nd Lord Avondale or Andrew Stuart, 1st Lord Ochiltree (died 1549), was a Scottish peer . Title. Andrew was the son of Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avondale, a new creation which Andrew surrendered for a new investment as Lord Ochiltree. His seat became Ochiltree Castle in Ayrshire.
Andrew Stewart, 1st Lord Avandale (2nd creation), was born about 1450 -1470) he was the 2nd son of Walter Stewart and Elizabeth Arnot. He was a younger brother to Alexander Stewart who died about the same time as his father.

He died of the battlefield of Flodden, 9 September 1513. This Andrew's son exchanged the title of Lord Avondale for that of Lord Ochiltree on 15 March 1543. The most recent creation, in 1890, was for Prince Albert son of the later King Edward VII.
The title Lord Avondale was revived for Andrew Stewart of Avondale in about 1499. He died in 1513 (killed at the Battle of Flodden) and was succeeded by his son Andrew, who exchanged Avondale for Ochiltree and thus became first Lord Ochiltree.

Andrew was Lord of the Bedchamber to King James IV. He inherited the title of Lord Avondale from his grand-uncle, Andrew, the first Lord Avondale, who died in 1488 without issue. Note that Burke's 1 gets mixed
4 de abr. de 2023 · In 1542 Andrew Stewart, 2nd Lord Avondale (see the Earl Castle Stewart for earlier history of the family) exchanged the lordship of Avondale with Sir James Hamilton for the lordship of Ochiltrie and by Act of Parliament was ordained to be styled Lord Stuart of Ochiltrie.
