Jack Hawkins stars as Scotland Yard Superintendent Tom Halliday, called in to lead the investigation of a pair of robberies that share an odd characteristic: in both incidents, a safe was robbed by someone who had a key, despite all known keys being accounted for.
Summaries. Police drama. The sleuths of Scotland Yard try to solve a series of burglaries. Someone has broken into the safe of a London company, and yet no force or explosive was used, and the keys do not appear to have been lost. A police superintendent is investigating, assisted by a new and very keen sergeant.
A well-made police thriller which follows a Scotland Yard Detective Superintendent as he finds links between a recent robbery from a safe in a London office building and other similar crimes over the past two years. In every instance the make of the safe was the same. Awards. 1956: Berlin Film Festival: Silver Bear - Outstanding Single Archievement
