Shuichi Murata (村田 修一, Murata Shūichi, born December 28, 1980 in Sasaguri, Fukuoka, Japan) is a third baseman for the Tochigi Golden Braves of Baseball Challenge League. Murata led the Central League in home runs in both 2007 and 2008 and is one of the few pure home run hitters in Japanese professional baseball today.

17 de feb. de 2021 · Murata became the first Japanese-born player to lead the Central League in home runs for consecutive seasons since Hiromitsu Ochai did it in 1990 and 1991. For his record-breaking season, he was named to the “Best Nine” team at third base in the Central League in 2008.
