Charles "Kid" McCoy (October 13, 1872 – April 18, 1940), born Norman Selby, was an American boxer and early Hollywood actor. He claimed the vacant world middleweight title when he scored an upset victory over Tommy Ryan by 15th-round knockout.
The Star reported on Sept.2nd that McCoy expected to weigh in the neighbourhood of 195 pounds while Day would be 230. McCoy entered the ring at least fourty pounds less than a flabby Bob Day. McCoy attacked and, off balance, tumbled through the ropes. When he climbed back in he cracked Day in the face with two quick lefts.
