  6. On 4 August 1944, the people hiding in the Secret Annex were discovered in a Sicherheitsdienst raid. Together with Victor Kugler and Jo Kleiman, two of the helpers, they were arrested and interrogated. The next day, they were locked up in House of Detention I in Amsterdam.
