Say Goodbye, Maggie Cole plot. Study doctor Maggie Cole has a hard time coping with her husband's death. She is about to quit her job and start living in seclusion. Then she meets the scrumptious but amiable doctor Lou Grazzo, who persuades her to work in a clinic in a bad neighborhood of Chicago.

Maggie Cole is a research scientist who, after the sudden death of her husband, takes a position as an on-call doctor in an inner-city clinic. There, she must fight a battle on two fronts: against the medical conditions endangering her patients and against sexism toward a female doctor.
