The Mayflies USA are a Chapel Hill, North Carolina-based rock band signed to Yep Roc Records. The band is a classic example of power pop , as their songs featured catchy melodies, vocal harmonies, and prominent guitar riffs.
The Mayflies USA (there is no Mayflies UK, that's just a joke) are one of the more pop-oriented bands to emerge from the buzzing, trendy Chapel Hill, North Carolina scene in the 1990s. After a debut EP in 1997, they released their first full-length in early 1999, which was produced by North Carolina alt-pop legend Chris Stamey.
Ideas are generated, plans are made, songs are written, life is romanticized and yes, beers drunk. Coming together by way of California, Saudi Arabia, Holland, LA, New York and Baltimore, The Mayflies USA call Chapel Hill their home.
