George Alexander Aberle (April 15, 1908 – March 4, 1995), known as eden ahbez, was an American songwriter and recording artist of the 1940s to 1960s, whose lifestyle in California was influential in the hippie movement. He was known to friends simply as ahbe.

As the Wind: The Enchanted Life of Eden Ahbez is the culmination. This feature-length documentary is co-directed by Chidester and his filmmaking partner John Winer. The two first met in 2016, in New York City, and outlined the basic thrust of the film, launching officially in 2017.
