For the past 40 years Paul Plimley has been developing his music from American and European music traditions – composition and improvisation. Playing piano, guitar, and vibes/marimba. He’s toured with many great international, acclaimed ensembles in North America, Europe, China and Cuba.
Paul Plimley (March 16, 1953 – May 18, 2022) was a free jazz pianist and vibraphonist. He was one of the leading figures of Canadian improvised and New Music who toured internationally. His explorations into World music, jazz, Western European classical music and popular styles were fused into adventurous, spontaneous compositions.
