Walter Davis Jr. (September 2, 1932 – June 2, 1990) was an American bebop and hard bop pianist. Davis once left the music world to be a tailor, but returned. A soloist, bandleader, and accompanist, he amassed a body of work while never becoming a high-profile name even within the jazz community.

Walter Jackson Davis Jr. (born 1 August 1936) is a retired vice admiral in the United States Navy who served as Director of Space and Electronic Warfare in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). [1] From 28 February 1996 until his retirement on 1 January 1997, he was U.S. naval aviation 's Gray Eagle.
