Edward Priaulx Tennant, 1st Baron Glenconner (31 May 1859 – 21 November 1920), known as Sir Edward Tennant, 2nd Baronet, from 1906 to 1911, was a Scottish businessman and Liberal politician. In 1911 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Glenconner.

Lieutenant Edward Wyndham Tennant (1 July 1897 – 22 September 1916) was a British war poet killed during the Battle of the Somme. Early life [ edit ] He was the son of Edward Tennant , who became Lord Glenconner in 1911, and Pamela Wyndham , a writer, and later wife of Edward Grey, 1st Viscount Grey of Fallodon .

31 de mar. de 2022 · Edward Priaulx Tennant, 1st Baron Glenconner, born on 31 May 1859, was the son of Sir Charles Clow Tennant of The Glen, 1st Bt. and Emma Winsloe. He married Pamela Adelaide Genevieve Wyndham, daughter of Hon. Percy Scawen Wyndham and Madeline Caroline Frances Eden Campbell, on 11 July 1895.
From 1906-1910, Edward served in Parliament representing Salisbury, and from 1908-1920 he was Lord Lieutenant for county Peebles. He was raised to the Peerage as baron Glenconner, of The Glen, county Peebles, on 3 April 1911.
The Baron was the grandson of Sir Charles Tennant, 1st bt., well-known art collector, patron, and museum trustee. Christopher Tennant inherited many paintings and other works of art from his grandfather. He succeeded his father, Edward Priaulx Tennant, 1st baron Glenconner, as baron in 1920.
