Anushtegin Gharchai (also spelled Anush-Tegin; Persian: نوشتکین غرچه, romanized: Anūštigin Ḡaṛčaʾī; died 1097) was a Turkic slave commander of the Seljuks and the governor of Khwarazm from approximately 1077 until 1097.
The dynasty was founded by commander Anushtegin Gharchai, a former Turkic slave of the Seljuq sultans, who was appointed as governor of Khwarazm. His son, Qutb ad-Din Muhammad I, became the first hereditary Shah of Khwarazm.

Things were unsettled until 1077 when Anushtegin Gharchai, a Mamluk ( slave mercenary) commander working for the Seljuks took control of Khwarazm and became its governor. He ruled over the region until his death in 1097.
