Charles Poletti (July 2, 1903 – August 8, 2002) was an American lawyer and politician. He became the 46th governor of New York in December 1942, and was the first person entirely of Italian-American ancestry to become the governor of a U.S. state.

8 de ago. de 2002 · Harvard-educated Charles Poletti (1903–2002) served as Counsel to Governor Lehman, who appointed him as a justice of the New York Supreme Court in 1937, a seat to which he was later elected for a 14-year term. He interrupted his term to serve as Lehman’s lieutenant governor.
